Maldon is one of the oldest towns in the county of Essex. Thanks to the particularly dry climatic conditions of the area, Maldon salt has been produced here in a traditional way for almost 140 years.The water, filtered and allowed to settle, forms salt crystals during evaporation. It is precisely the structure of the Maldon crystals that makes this salt a unique product. Smoked Maldon Salt is a variant obtained from the historic English producer by exposing the salt to oak wood smoke.
